So I dont even know if this really needs saying but I thought a heads up might be in order. Over the next week or so I'm going to be withdrawing Munch from most of his writing communities. My life is incredibly hectic what with a full time job, a social life, and with school starting up again soon comes working on the school paper and my duties as News Editor. Add onto that the fact that I will be turning 21 in two months and therefore will be spending more time time drunk and less time in front of a computer and I just dont have the energy to maintain a muse like Munch.

Munch has a very unique voice and frankly I havent been doing it much justice lately. On the other side of the coin I have a lot more fun writing for one of my OC's and another canon muse I have on the side and I think it's because I dont feel limited by them. I feel like I can talk to more people with them and I dont have to deal with the pressure of canon throwing a weekly wrench in my plans.

So to anyone who's concerned, Munch will still be around just not as much as in the past. I'll be around too but just in the form of other muses. Feel free to still hit me up for RP or chats or whatever.

When the doorbell rang at a quarter to 3am Terry considered simply ignoring it but after five more rings in rapid succession this was no longer an option. "Aww! Come on! You're always taking things the wrong way!"

"You called me a 'spineless, toe-sucking, sack of detritus'" said the visibly shaken CPA Munch had dragged in for molesting a little boy.

"I meant that in the best way possible,"

"You told me to 'prepare to be someones bitch,'"

"What I meant was, you are obviously a very handsome man and that you would probably be very popular in jail."

"I think I need a lawyer."

"Now why would you want to go and do a thing like that?" Despite there being two other perfectly good seats on the other side of the table, Munch took the one next to Cartwright. He pulled the chair in closer than social mores would typically allow and leaned in, "Listen Jimmy-can I call you Jimmy?"

"It's James and no,"

"Listen Jimmy, we're just having fun here. It's just you and me talking, nothing else. You call a lawyer in and that's going to ruin everything. They're going to come in here and tell you to keep your mouth shut and then we'll never get hear your side of the story."

"I'm not stupid, Detective,"

"Never said you were"

"I'm not some strung out junkie you found on the side of the road," Cartwright was a train wreck. His handkerchief was soaked from wiping sweat from his forehead and his metal chair was tapping a steady rhythm on the floor as he nervously tapped his foot. He lit up his 5th cigarette in a row before continuing, "I won't let you make me your fall guy. You've got the wrong man."

The words came out in a sea of nerves which only cemented in Munch's mind that this was his man. He'd been slowly wearing him down for hours and it had become incredibly obvious that the "bad cop" routine wasn't going to work and by the looks of it, it was too late to try and be his friend. It was time for plan B.

Munch got up and went to the door of the room, "Hey Elliot! You wanna come in here and give me a hand?".

Maybe Cartwright would be more inclined to talk when Elliot had him sucking linoleum.

Is it too late to still do this? Did I miss the bus? Anyways,

I was lurking through the voting sections of the Tammys (because I was bored and had writer's block) and I see that I had received and Honorable Mention for Best Writing/Portrayal of A Main Character in a Legal Television series, which I don't know about you but I think that's pretty cool. So thanks to whoever thought that my little Munch should be recognized for anything other than sucking out loud and good luck to those of you on my flist who were nominated.

[info]theatrical_muse #235 Show us were you live
If anyone of you shows up on my doorstep unannounced, I will shoot. I am a Detective with the NYPD and I do keep a gun in the house. It will be labeled a clean shoot and I'll be back on the street in a week. That being said it’s really a nice place Feel free to come over.

I live at 806 W. 183rd St in the Washington Heights neighborhood in Manhattan. That's in New York for those of you who failed geography. My place is the snazzy tan high-rise on the corner and my apartment is on the fifth floor. There is a narrow hallway just as you walk in the door that opens up into a large common room type set up, to the right a window and to the left the kitchen and beyond that is the living room/office. The walls are a dark muted blue, almost grey. Large block-like bookshelves line the back walls stuffed to overflowing with records, books, and more junk. The couch sits under a large (by New York standards anyways) window. On the opposite side is my desk. I bring a lot of work home so it's always covered in paperwork and amidst the chaos is my laptop.

The kitchen was non-existent until I got married. There was a fridge in the corner and a sea of file cabinets. Now it doesn’t look like homicidal maniac lives there. We put a fresh coat of white paint on the cabinets and the file cabinets are no more. In there place is a sturdy wooden dining table and some chairs.

The bedroom is nothing to write home about, it's cramped and small but it's comfortable. Luckily when my wife moved in she didn't change much so it still looks pretty much like it did when I was a bachelor. There is lots of space overhead for books and all of my other junk. If you walk out of the bedroom to your immediate right will be my daughter Cassidy's room. It used to be just a second closet were I kept my records, extra paperwork, and art I had collected along the way. Obviously she and her mother have done a lot with it; I don’t pretend to have any hand in the decor.

What else do you want to know? Its home, it's comfortable, and it's overpriced.

[info]couples_therapy 16.1 If you were falling in love with someone, would you tell them?
Yes.

It wouldn’t be the first time. I don’t use the word "love" like some perverts do to try and get in a woman's pants; honestly I just can’t help myself. It's like a nervous tick, the moment things start to go well I feel compelled to use a certain four letter word. I think the problem is that I mistake infatuation with love a lot of times and when I stop and think about it, there's probably a reason my third and fourth marriages lasted less than a year.

With Gwen, that was real. She had me wrapped around her finger from the word "go" and I know, at least for a time she loved me too. Years after she took my money and left me, I still found myself daydreaming about her in-between glasses of Scotch. With Nancy and Felicia (even though we never ended up getting married) I was calling it love before the first date was even over and I don’t need a therapist to tell me that I was just using "that" word to cover up all the problems we had. If I really loved either of them I wouldn’t have slept with Nancy’s roommate or told that department shrink how much I resented Felicia.

That's why Sunny and I took things nice and slow. I couldn’t afford to screw things up this time, not with a kid involved. I was ready to tell her I loved her the first time I saw her smile but I held off until I knew it was real, and more importantly until I felt like she could say it back.

[info]writers_muses 39.7 OOC: Mun Prompt
If you were a psychiatrist and your muse were your patient, tell us what you are treating them for and describe your first session with them and how they react to being there.

Funny you should ask because Munch is already in therapy; couples therapy and one on one. I guess the guy has a lot of issues the biggest being the death of his father. I know he never talks about it but there is no way in hell your dad can off himself right after you told him you "hated his guts" and not have that mess you up a little. I just wrote a fic were he goes to his first session and he touched on how he's scared that mental illness might run in his family but then he kind of lost it and completely closed himself off. He also mentioned how he used to blame himself for his father killing himself. These are all things I would try to bring up in a second session. I know for Munch, crying in front of a stranger would be kind of a blow to his pride so he would probably come into his next session wearing all his armor. He'd try to deflect serious questions with his trademark snark but I think with some work he could probably open up again.

Munch is a treasure trove of probelms, he's like the poster child for fucked up people. After his father there's his divorces, Fin leaving, being a step-father, his current marriage, the things he sees at work, and that pesky Gordon Pratt thing. The cost of his therapy alone could put some lucky psychiatrist's kid through four years of college.
